USS Midway

This may have been one of my favorite Spring Breaks! It was weird having Easter in March but at least the weather was good! We enjoyed every minute of our break. I have many more pics so this is just part of our adventures while at the USS Midway. I highly recommend if you haven't already been... you should! It was amazing
Our little funny bunny!

There was a Seaman being honored

got to love the soldiers sense of humor

this is the chapel .. the rooms are very small on the ship so it was hard to get a full shot in the picture.

One of the officers rooms.. organization is key! not a lot of room

Officer Heather reporting for duty

my loves

high tech technology back then (USS Midway was decommissioned in 1991, it served from Vietnam through Desert Sheild)

this is inside the ship..

had so much fun exploring

the pictures had some great info! This is one of how they had to climb in to fix the boiler.. can you imagine doing that!

the classic statue :)

this was down at the boardwalk.. the guy is painted gold

Heather being a control men bringing the planes in

the ship is just massive!

Pilot Heather ready for take off

one of my faves!

not a lot of head room on the plane :)

this isnt even the entire ship.. just about 1/4 of the length

This guy is Jack.. he's the most photographed mannequin on the ship :)

this one kinda freaked me out because he moved ever so slightly..

Here a model of the ship.. even the model is massive

Corsairs are my faves!

Here's one more shot of my little funny bunny at Easter.. just love when she's lost in thought :)

This was definitely one of the weeks highlights.. we will be going back and taking a tour of the bridge, we ran out of time this trip. The staff is so nice and informative, we all had a great time!

GS Bday

Last weekend was the Girl Scouts Birthday so we had a little party to celebrate. We were able to celebrate with another troop which made it a lot of fun for all the girls.
This was on Sunday, we had an early Easter and the cousins did an Easter egg hunt and got to spend time with their Great Grandpa Jerry. I just love the smiles!!!

All the girls did some crafts, including planting some daisy's. Happy to say Heather's just started sprouting too, we are very excited!

played some games too. .. daisy, daisy, brownie (very similar to duck duck goose LOL)

Here's our two wacky troops
Its really not easy to get a bunch of girls to all smile at the same time
and this was before any cake! :)

Our troop had a lot of fun w/ their GS sisters in the other troop

Craziest bunch of daisies I ever did see! :)

rapunzel rapunzel...

Rapunzel Rapunzel let down your golden locks..
we shall put it in a ponytail and donate it to some child to enjoy ..
Heather had been asking if she could cut her hair and I had tried to hold out as long as I could and explained that if she let it grow longer she could donate it to help kids w/ cancer that needed wigs.. the day came and she was soooooo excited!
Here is the day before .. her and her BFF were selling cookies

after gymnastics we were off to the hair salon..

I think its super cute!

she loves how easy she can style it now

she was able to donate her golden locks to wigs for kids and she was super excited about the new do and helping another little kid :)

family Sunday funday

Where else would we spend a Family Sunday Funday..in the dirt of course :) We went w/ some friends to take a little jeep adventure and the desert was just beautiful!

It says there 188,000 open acres but that is not the case anymore =(

have to stop and check out the cabin.. its really nice that everyone who visits keeps it in good condition... still in decent shape for being built in 1932

we signed the wall at our first visit when Heather was only 1-1/2.. it doesnt seem that long ago..

our friend Tim's cherokee w/ the Ivan man paint scheme :)

The happy jeeps!

Heather had so much fun playing w/ her go-pro.. it has some really cool features on it :)

I like yucca trees..

had to go exploring and found some tires to jump on :)

can you imagine waking up to this view every morning..

not sure when this was built.. probably late 60's?? but I can only imagine it was great back in the day.. they had two garages and a pump house and a huge orchard

it was a great day adventuring..
